COVID-19 infection is asymptomatic or mild in most cases. However, more severe infection may result in the so-called cytokine storm. Drugs, such as JAK inhibitors, may be used as appropriate therapy to prevent cytokine production and the resulting inflammatory response. This video highlights the pathway of JAK activation and illustrates its inhibition by Suppressors of Cytokine Signaling (SOCS).
