My name is Ty’andrea Tilllis and I am a senior at Elba High School. I have lived in Elba all my life. I’ve attended Elba City Schools throughout my educational years. I am in the Elba High School Marching Tiger Band, where I play clarinet and held the captain title of the color guard for 2021-2022 school year. I attend Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Elba, where I am in the youth choir, on the usher board and a member of the junior mission. I am also a current member of the Elba Youth Leadership Program; Future Business Leadership Program; Family, Career and Community Leadership Program.

The alumni that I have chosen to write about is Alex Wright. The reason I chose Alex is because he inspires me to set goals, work hard & never give up on my dreams no matter where you come from. Alex started his high school career in the band. He had a love for football, so he switched his saxophone to the field. His passion for the game is what helped him to be successful at what he loves. Alex played football with Elba High School to later receive a football scholarship to UAB. While in high school, Alex set a goal that he would one day play in the NFL. He worked hard on and off the field to achieve this goal. Alex had the tenacity to reach his goals no matter what obstacles he may have faced. Five years later, today Alex has been drafted to the NFL to play with the Cleveland Browns.

Being awarded this scholarship would be a blessing and honor. After high school I plan to attend Enterprise State Community College in the fall to major in business administration and management. I chose business administration and management because I want to one day have my own company and I aspire to turn my passion for photography into my career. The scholarship would help me achieve my goals that I have set in place to earn my business administration and management degree. Getting my degree would be the foundation of one day having my own business. Having this degree would educate and help me learn more about business process. I have been inspired to set goals, work hard and never give up just like the Elba High School Alumni Alex Wright.
